The local library should City Directories, records of those, in which year and most likely what they were doing for a life lived. You can search by name or address. Directories My local library in the city go back to 1870 and were a great help when a local group of paranormal investigation The Haunted House has been investigated. I could not find records of all residents find their way back to 1895, and property there in 1891. In addition, it must keep records of old newspapers on microfilm at the library. My library is what it is like a catalog of press articles. You are in different classes of fire, fire, crime, etc. These cards split the category name, the date of the article, the location of the article in the microfilm and one or two sentences about the article. They are very helpful when it comes to whether something has been done on the property, but not forgotten, even if you do not mean anything that it has happened. Only a folder with newspaper articles, not the actual events. For example, there was a fireA few blocks from a few weeks, and there was nothing in the newspaper. And you can always ask a librarian to help find something or microfilm (yes, I have no idea how the microfilm machine) are available.
I hope that helped!
You can visit the courthouse, the library or the society or to history if the city has one. You can search on the Internet, if they use public documents on the net (work, etc..) Depending on your age and how much you need to go. Most of the old things you have to go hand in research, especially for houses. It's fun, and usually end with someone who will be a valuable resource for you. I begin with the implementation of certain research online first to see what happened to you, then I went in person to the above locations. This helps you to really start.
Look at the documents at home, title, abstract force. If all holders of 1 days. Do not listen to other answers. The summary is the only document that lists all the owners.
Most cities have a history with a kind of historical society that maintains a register of buildings of importance. You know.
